March of the Penguins
Have you ever seen this documentary? It is a breath taking disclosure of the emperor's penguin cycle of life.
In the ice deserts of Antarctica, each winter thousand of penguins begin a journey through this bleak lifeless region in order to get to a place were the ice is thicker, guided by their instinct they march on single line to this place. During the march they are attacked by blizzards and gale force winds. Once they get to the place were ice is thicker, each penguin have to pair off. If any penguin doesn't get a pair, he or she have to go back to the sea on his/her own, it means a certain death. Every penguin mate with their monogamous couple and once the female penguin have laid a single egg they return to the sea, needless to say that the penguins have been weeks without nourishment. Meanwhile, the male penguins stay to guard the egg, cradling them on top of their feet the whole time, during this time they eat nothing and have to take care of their eggs from the predators, the cold and other penguins who have lost their eggs and want one for themselves. After two hard months, the eggs hatch and newborn penguins are starving! They have to live from their fathers' food reserve, leaving the male penguins even weaker, if their mother penguins don't return on time, both father penguin and chick will die. Once the mothers return, their change roles with the male penguins. They keep doing this dangerous journeys countless times until the chicks are ready to march to the sea and next winter, it will start all over again!
It is a beautiful film of the breath taking cycle of life of the emperor's penguins. It is with no doubt one of the hardest places on earth to live, however, this penguins prove that love can find his way.
THE ROAD - Cormac McCarthy
THE ROAD - Cormac McCarthy
This is one of my all time favorite books. It is a novel written by Cormac McCarthy, who is one of the greatest north american writers of our times. It is a story of a father and his son trying to survive in a post-apocalyptic world, in which the civilization have been destroyed and the earth have suffered and unspecified cataclysm. But this scenario isn't the focus of the story but the devotion of the father on his son. The mother of the child have decided to end with her life, and she talked to her husband asking his permission to take their son life with her. He doesn't allow that, no matter how bad was the world in that moment. After she killed herself, they begin a journey to the south in order to get to the sea, but the road is full of dangers, such like cannibals and apocalyptic weather hazards. Since the beggining of the story it makes you wonder: how is this story comming to an end? It is there something like a happy ending to these guys? It seems imposible, but if you want to find it out, I highly recommend you to read the book or watch the movie, which is also great and the father role is played by one of my favorite actors, Viggo Mortenssen.
This story really touches me, people often tell me that I am over protective with my child, it may be true and I can't stop thinking how hard must be a situation like the one depicted in this novel. Anyway, I recommend you to read or watch it but be ready to cry!

Short Poem
What's the matter with people today?
Days past they want to be paid
Summer's gone they haven't seen the sun
Life is short, nothing have been done
Green paper is useless in a grave
This poem I made is about life and work. People nowadays live to work and doesn't enjoy life.
My dad always tell me to work and work and work in order to be succesful. But to me a succesful
person is someone who enjoy the wonders of the world and the people around him.
It doesn't matter how much money you can get, life is not about that, it's all about the things that
you can do (on your own and with the poeple you love) with the time that you have.
Try to spend the time you was given the best way you can.

IDIOTS ARE TAKING OVER
It's election time and it
NOFX - IDIOTS ARE TAKING OVER
remind me of a song which I like.
Here is the lyrics, underlined phrases will be explained below.
It's not the right time to be sober now the idiots have taken over
spreading like a social cancer is there an answer
Mensa membership conceding, tell me why (and how) are all the stupid people breeding
Watson, it's really elementary, the industrial revolution has flipped a bitch on evolution
the benevolent and wise are being thwarted, ostracized, what a bummer
the world keeps getting dumber insensitivity is standard, and faith is being fancied over reason
Darwin's rolling over in his coffin, cuz the fittest are surviving much less often
now everything seems to be reversing, and it's worsening
someone flopped a steamer in the gene pool
now angry mob mentality is no longer the exception it's the rule
and i'm starting to feel a lot like Charlton Heston, stranded on a primate planet
apes and orangutans that ran into the ground, with generals and the armies who obeyed them
followers following fables, philosophies that enable them to rule without regard
it sounds all too familiar.
There's no point for democracy when ignorance is celebrated
political scientists get the same one vote as some arkansas inbred
majority rule don't work in mental institutions
sometimes the smallest softests voice carries the grand biggest solutions
What are we left with, a nation of god fearing pregnant nationalists
who feel it's their duty to populate the homeland
pass on traditions, how to get ahead religions, and prosperity via simpleton culture
The idiots are taking over
Take Over: It refers to take control or charge of something.
Mensa membership conceding: Mensa is an international society of high IQ people. This phrase refers to the fact that nowadays anyone is considered highly-gifted.
Watson, it's really elementary: This phrase refers to something that is in fact obvius. It was made famous by Arthur Conan Doyle's Sherlock Holmes in this form: "Elementary, my dear Watson"
Flipped a bitch: To flip the bitch or flip a bitch refers to making an U-turn in a car, so you were going forward and then you are going backwards.
Darwin's rolling over in his coffin: It refers to Charles Darwin, famous naturalist that studied the evolution and wrote The Origin of Species
Flopped a steamer: I'm not sure if this refers to poop or to fart
Gene pool: A gene pool is the total of all genes, or genetic information, in a population.
Charlton Heston: He is the actor who played the protagonistic role of George Taylor in the original "Planet of the Apes" film. This film is about an astronaut who landed in a planet in which the apes were the dominant race whereas the humans were considered a inferior race.

"A Second Nose" a dogs story
A SECOND NOSE
a dogs story
I was
the alpha male of my litter. We were eight puppies and our mother died right after
we were born and we never knew our father. I soon took my brothers away from
that place, it smelled like death. They
were all watching me, waiting for me to decide what to do. I didn’t know what
to do, how could I? So I ordered them to follow me. I follow my nose to a place
where I could smell food. We found it in trash cans outside places where human
packs sleep and eat, I think they call it houses. The food was dirty and mixed
up with rubbish but it was food after all. We were starving so we threw several
trash cans to the ground and ate like there was no tomorrow. When the humans
saw us doing it they chased us and tried to beat us. Why did they do such a
thing? They were throwing their food away after all! That day I learned to
trust my nose above anything else and to keep away from humans, they were not
to be trusted.
Within
a few days, four of my brothers and my only sister were dead. They couldn’t
make it and I didn’t feel sadness for them. They were not made to live in the
streets and no member of our pack was to live with humans. So we were three,
me, Spotty and Jesse. Within one year our three dogs pack turned into a six
dogs pack and we knew exactly how to survive in the streets. We slept under a
bridge, and then when the sun was in its highest point we went to a dark alley,
at that time of the day humans always threw away cooked meat. After that we did
whatever we wanted within our territory and when the sun went down, we ate at
humans trash cans, trying not to wake them up.
It
was not perfect but we were not as bas as other street dogs, but everything
changed when another dogs pack showed up in our territory. The pack leader was
a mongrel dog just like all of us, however he defintively had a husky forebear.
He was gray as ash and huge as a truck. We barked at them and they run away,
but they started to show up very often, until a day that they launched a
surprise attack on us. We were eating at a trash can when their pack came on us.
His pack was bigger than ours and they killed Bones and Jesse. At the time that
their pack leader was coming to attack me a lot of humans were watching from
inside their habitats and some of them were comming toward us. I threw myself
down and showed my belly to the huge gray dog. That meant that I was giving up
and we would leave our territory to never come back. Now it was their
territory. We run away leaving behind Bones and Jesse corpses and eveything we
had.
The
next months were awful. We couldn’t find any place without a pack. One day
Spotty found a narrow street where humans threw away some food when the sun
starts to set and there was no dog around. We went there starving to death but
we were just started to eat when some human threw hot water to us. I couldn’t
imagine a pain worse than that, but I received just a little amount of water,
Spotty was the one who received the most. His death came with the night. I did
feel sadness for him.
No
matter we were starving, freezing and hopeless, we stayed together. It was me,
Jhonny and Fluffy Dog. They looked at me waiting for my decision. And I decided
to follow my nose. There was a smell far away, it was like grass and cooked fish.
We followed that track for a week and then we found a place near the sea. There
was plenty of food for you if you knew when and how take it, and you shouldn’t
be seen by humans. At the third day Jhonny realized that there was another pack
in the territory. I already knew it, I had smelled them when I was marking my
territory on a post. Jhonny told us to go away that very moment, and Fluffy Dog
said that he would do what I decide.
I
went scouting the territory, looking for the pack and found them gnawing bones
at the shore. When Jhonny asked me how many were them I told him the truth.
When Fluffy Dog asked me what we were going to do I told him that we were going
to fight for this territory. When Jhonny called me crazy, Fluffy Dog told him
to trust me. Sadly, Jhonny wasn’t willing to fight against such a pack and left
us. I didn’t want him to go away but when he did I didn’t let me feel anything.
It was me and Fluffy Dog and we had an eight dogs pack to defeat, there was no
time for whining.
We
were reaching the shore when Fluffy Dog told me that he was going to protect me
and I told him to that his mission was to keep alive at any cost. I didn’t let
him time to respond me and then I run towards the pack. Fluffy Dog run after
me.
They
didn’t see us comming, but I didn’t attack them, I just wanted one of them, a huge
brown spotted dog, he was their pack leader. He was more experienced than me
and he was defintively stronger. But I was much younger and hungrier. We
engaged in a fierce fight. The other dogs tried to interfere but Fluffly Dog got
between the fight and the dogs. It was incredible, he was starving and tired
but he made the seven dogs to step back.
The
huge brown dog bit me several times and I was really injured but I was faster
than him and when he realized that I was going to win, he threw himself to the
ground and showed me his belly. I told Fluffy Dog to let the other dogs see us.
“You are my pack now” I told them and then I bit their pack leader throat. So
he stopped to breath and then he got cold.
Five
years have passed since I became this pack leader. We had really good times and
Fluffy Dog had always been at my side. He was the most loyal companion that I
ever had.
Now
he has stopped breathing and his corpse is ice cold. The other pack members
look at me waiting for answers. I have never felt so much sadness inside but
Fluffy Dog and I were prepared for this. One month ago we saw Blacky. He is
young and he got a five dogs pack of his own. It’s not like we had never fought
against another pack but this time is different. We knew it when we saw Blacky’s
eyes, they completely looked like the eyes that I had that time when I defeated
the old pack leader. We knew that this day would came soon or later and now
that it’s finally here I’m not scared, but I would have liked to have Fluffy
Dog at my side when my time finally comes. He was a true friend and my second
nose.
The
End.

Opeth - Face of Melinda / Lyrics explanation
This is the story of a man who fell in love of a girl called Melinda. However, she can't be with him for she is about to become a nun. He tried to convice her to be with him and to give up the Christianity, but she rejected him. Nevertheless, she wanted to be with him.
The man left the town with his heart broken.
Years passed and the man couldn't stand it anymore, he returned to have Melinda with him once and for all.
He found her and she confessed to him that she had always loved him, and that she will love him forever, but she is already a nun and she will stay that way.
Original Song Lyrics:
By the turnstile beckons a damsel fair
The face of Melinda neath blackened hair
No joy would flicker in her eyes
Brooding sadness came to a rise
Words would falter to atone
Failure had passed the stepping stone
She sworn her vows to another
This is when no-one will bother
And conceded pain in crumbling mirth
A harlot of God upon the earth
Found where she sacrificed her ways
That hollow love in her face
Still I plotted to have her back
The contentment that would fill the crack
My soul released a fluttering sigh
This day fell, the darkness nigh
I took her by the hand to say
All faith forever has been washed away
I returned for you in great dismay
Come with me, far away to stay
Endlessly gazing in nocturnal prime
She spoke of her vices and broke the rhyme
But baffled herself with the final line
My promise is made but my heart is thine

The Little Girl and The Wolf Alternate Ending
...The Little girl realized that the wolf wanted to eat her grandmother's food. So she poisoned her meat pies with poisonous mushrooms. When she arrived to her grandmother's house it was evident that in her grandma's bed there was a big wolf dressed with old lady clothes.
-"Hi Grandma! I brought you some delicious meat pies"- she said and the wolf ate them all in a second.
Suddenly the wolf began to cry out loud. In about five minutes of pain he was dead. The Little girl found her grandmother hidden in the closet. They both laughed.
-"This is the third wolf that we have tricked"- said the old lady.
-"I'm starting to love wolf meat. Let's cook more wolf meat pies"- said the Little girl as he laughed ominously.

Roald Dahl's Umbrella Man Character Description
The Girl
She is a twelve years old
girl. She likes ice creams and she is a very trusted and compassionate person.
The Mother
She is a thirty four years
old lady. She isn’t a trusted person at all. She always consider necessary to
examine people before trusting them. And she is a stubborn person; she didn’t
let go things just because.
The Umbrella Man
He is about 70 years old. He
is a little old man but he is in very good shape. He is well-dressed,
well-spoken and appears to be very polite but the truth is that he is a
bold-faced jerk. He is an alcoholic that steals other people things in order to
sell them for pennies through lies and other people compassion and then buy
alcohol.
Umbrella Man Alternate Ending
This is my Ending to Roald Dahl's Umbrella Man:
The End
When we got home we didn’t
spoke about what happened earlier. The next day, it was raining cats and dogs.
I didn’t want to get wet in my way to school. So, I took the old man’s umbrella
and walked to the bus stop. There I was, waiting for my bus under the umbrella
when a lady crossed by carrying her baby. She looked worried and I realized
that he was poor and that her baby was sick. I felt very sorry for them and
offered her the umbrella. “Take it” – I said - “You need it more than I do”. She
smiled to me happily “Thank you” – she said and continued her way to the
hospital. I didn’t get a penny but I got a mother’s gratitude and her smile. It
worthed a lot more than a penny.
Soon I forgot about the
umbrella but one day I was waiting for my bus to go back home after school. It
was raining but the bus stop had a roof and a bench. I didn’t notice when an
old man sat next to me, but I do noticed the umbrella that he had in his hand.
I looked at him and I got amazed. He was the little old man that sold my mother
the umbrella and he was carrying it with him!
-Hi there- he said – Yes, it
is me and yes, this is the umbrella- He laughed loud.
-How come…?-
-I don’t know, you pretty
young lady- he answered before I could ask him –It always return to me. And in
its way back it performs beautiful acts.
I was astonished.
-I guess someday it will
leave me, as well as it came to me in the first place. Who knows? Maybe someday
it will return to you… I think that’s your bus honey-
Indeed, my bus was coming. I
got on the bus. When I looked outside, he was already offering the umbrella to a young guy. I'm sure that I will be seeing that umbrella again!
